ABOUT

Summer Design Studio is our 7-week work/study program where students are immersed in math and literacy through design.  The goal of SDS is to prevent summer learning loss, which is the greatest contributor to the educational gap between high and low-income students. Due to COVID-19, we made an immediate pivot to online programming and students focused on Democracy as a Design Challenge by learning how to engage audiences through the exploration of technologies, the development of a visual language,  challenging preconceptions, redefining problems, and identifying design opportunities through the lens of communication design.
